the many ways your local eyebank gives back

East TN Lions Eye Bank gives generously to our local communities in many ways. We frequently partner with surgeons to discount our tissue if a patient’s insurance will not cover the cost, as well as partner with a KAPA program to ensure everyone who needs a cornea will have one available, regardless of their ability to pay. Over time, we have given away more than $1,000,000 worth of free or reduced tissue.

Additionally, ETLEB has donated funds to community playgrounds in Karns, Maryville, Clinton, and Campbell County. For each playground, we donated $30,000 – $35,000 specifically for a “musical garden”- where visually impaired children will have braille-inscribed musical instruments to play with.
